Jennifer Cassaday, owner of Byrd’s Pecan Delights is not only a small business owner, but an advocate for small businesses in rural areas on a much larger scale. Jennifer is the President of the Adrian Chamber of Commerce, located in Adrian, MO. Additionally, Jennifer traveled to Washington, D.C. appearing in front of Congress to discuss the challenges of operating a small business in a rural community. Jennifer originally started Byrd’s Pecan Delights in 2014. In 2019, Jennifer moved Byrd’s Pecan Delights to their current location at 115 S. Old Hwy. 71 in Adrian, MO. Jennifer has navigated Byrd’s Pecan Delights through a global pandemic, supply chain shortages, rising food costs, wage increases, and other inflationary pressures. Throughout these challenges, Jennifer has remained grounded in her commitment not only to her own small business, but also being an advocate for other small businesses in rural areas. Jennifer not only speaks on behalf of her own business, but provides a higher level overview of the various challenges other small businesses in rural areas may face.
